آمار درمورد مهاجرت ایرانیان چه میگوید؟ آیا واقعا ایرانیها ایران را ترک میکنند یا این یک تصور ساختگی مبتنی بر تبلیغات موسسات مهاجرتی، رسانههای خارجی و فیلمها و داستانها است؟ آیا واقعا مهاجرت در ایران بیشتر شده و اگر بله، چرا مهاجرت ایرانیان در جهان هر سال بیشتر میشود.

یکی از مهمترین دلایل رفتن ایرانیان شرایط اقتصادی است. طوری که بهرام صلواتی، مدیر رصدخانه مهاجرت ایران در مصاحبهای با شرق میگوید: «هر زمان که شرایط اقتصادی و اجتماعی بهتر شود. ما شاهد کاهش خروج ایرانیان از کشور هستیم و برعکس وقتی فشارهای اقتصادی بیشتر میشود. ما میبینیم که خروج از کشور روند صعودی میگیرد.»
وی بیان کرد: در سالنامه ۱۴۰۰ آمار مهاجرت وجود دارد و قابل دسترس است. بر اساس منابع بینالمللی جمعیت مهاجر ایرانی در دنیا در سال ۱۹۹۰ میلادی، بالغ بر ۸۲۰ هزار نفر بوده است.
این رقم در سال ۲۰۲۰ میلادی به ۱.۸ میلیون نفر است. در واقع طی ۳۰ سال گذشته جمعیت مهاجران ایرانی ۲.۲ برابر است. البته براساس منابع داخلی (دبیرخانه شورای عالی ایرانیان) جمعیت مهاجران ایرانی خارج از کشور ۴.۰۴ میلیون نفر برآورده شد. که این آمار بر اساس منابع بین المللی قابل راستی آزمایی نیست.
